![]() Some of the movies feel like they took place within a single week. ![]() In the movies, although many of them show quick montage of time passing, this feeling is really not there at all. This is what makes the early chapters in the "real" world so strong as well - because you really feel Harry's intense desire to return to this magical world and spend a whole other year in it. In each book, you really sense the passage of time, and it really does feel like each book represents a full school year from start to finish. To me, the movies really don't live up to the books, other than that they do a good job of bringing Hogwarts and the characters to life.
